otis is the original elevator company they are the most populer elevator manufactors in the entire world. but being the most popular is not always the best because of the otis gen 2.
did you know that otis used to be called waygood otis then they renamed themself to otis.
Otis series 1 these lifts were absolutely amazing because the buttons just looked so amazing and the motor sound was great the 80s otis series 1 is the best i have heard there is our used to be a Otis series 1 in Devon i do not know if it is still there or evil owl has escaped the dustbin and replaced it with the most unreliable piece of crap ever known to man
Otis 2000 Vf lifts
Otis 2000s were some really nice lifts they were a good design by Otis. Otis 2000 vf lifts were built before 2000 this was probably to make it sound futuristic. The Otis 2000 in this video was built in 1998. It does not look the slightest bit out of date they still look like they would pass with today's modern lifts sadly in 2017 these lifts are no longer produced and in 2008 Otis really went downhill. These lifts do require a machine room they use relays to control them I think.
Otis 2000 Hydraulic
Otis made Hydraulic versions of there otis 2000 range of lifts this hydraulics were ok however there was some dirt cheap Otis 2000s not sure about this one
Otis gen 2
The otis Gen 2 is a Modern day Machine room Less lift that is rather cheap. These lifts started around 2004 the early ones were not that good However they are not that bad the best
thing about a otis gen 2 lift is the fact you can safety break it is so much fun for elevator enthusiasts. However the reliability of the Otis gen 2 is bad. an example is when the lift detects the slightest fault the lift completely shuts down and will not work until a lift engineer resets it. Shaft door protection can become a issue when safety breaking from the outside because if you pry the doors when the lift is idle the lift will often shut down completly and require a reset. However i have no problems with gen 2s i think there ok lifts better than shit generics
